Search by Post Code
This will search our database for a post code. You can enter a post code with or without the space. Partial postcode searching is supported on the first part of the post code, eg SW18, but the location you get is a rough calculation !

Search by Street
This will search our database for a street in Great Britain. You only need supply the first three letters of the street name and we will look for the rest. Note that we do not want numbers or anything else, just the street name. Also, do not try and abbreviate street or road ie do not use rd or st in the name. If you are not sure, just use the name without street or road and select the location you want from the list.
Search by Place
This will search our database for a City, Town or Village in Great Britain, you only need supply the first three letters of the place and we will look for the rest. Note that we do not have regions eg counties or boroughs.
Search by London Street
This will search our database for a London street only. You only need supply the first three letters of the street name and we will look for the rest. Note that we do not want numbers or anything else, just the street name. Also, do not try and abbreviate street or road ie do not use rd or st in the name. If you are not sure, just use the name without street or road and select the location you want from the list.
Search by Grid Reference
This will display a map for the OS grid reference. The format of the grid reference is nnnnnn,nnnnnn with the x coordinate first and then the y coordinate second.
Search by Landranger Grid Reference
This will display a map for the OS Landranger grid reference. The format of the grid reference is aannnnnn ie the sheet code followed by the x sub part and y sub part, eq TQ200700
Search by Lat/Long
This will display a map for the Lat/Long coordinates. The format of the coordinates is:
[d]y.y,[d]x.x or [d]y:yy:yy,[d]x:xx:xx
where
[d] id the optional direction N S E or W , y=lat, x=long, -x is west +x is east,
eq: 52.038333,-4.578611 or N52.038333,W4.578611 or 52:02:18,-4:34:43 or or
N52:02:18,W4:34:43 (note that leading zeroes are required when using the
degrees:minutes:seconds notation).
Search by Telephone
This will search our database for the general area for a telephone code. You must supply the at least the first 5 digits of the telephone number including the leading zero e.g 01908123456. Note that the locations are rough and based on the higer part of the prefix, so that 0207 and 0208 numbers all apear in the centre of London for example..
